Iranian brewery

Alcohol-free beer for Iran

To the north of the capital Tehran loom the mighty peaks of the Elburs range, forming a natural boundary to the city. On the other side of the mountains begins the Caspian Sea, wiht its bathing beaches, where under the rules of traditional Islam women are only allowed in the water fully clothed. The rules also prohibit the consumption of alcohol. So if an Iranian brewery orders tanks in Germany, these may be used only for producing alcohol-free beer .

For one of Germany's major plant manufacturers, GROSS supplied 22 tanks, destined for a brewery in Iran. One of the custoemr's special stipulations was that only a ship sailing under the Iranian flag could be used for transport. It rapidly emerged, however, that Iranian ships are not permitted to dock in European ports. In addition, a specified delivery time absolutely had to be complied with, since a Hermes guarantee was in force, which was tied to a defined deadline.

Despite all these stipulations, all the conditions were met, and the brewery was able to put its new plant into operation right on time .
